Arnie Chavkin is a managing director at Pine Brook Road Partners, LLC, a growth-oriented private equity firm. He retired in 1986 as chief investment officer at J.P. Morgan Partners (JPMP), a multibillion-dollar private-equity firm affiliated with JPMorgan Chase.

Prior to joining JPMP in 1990, Mr. Chavkin was a member of Chemical Bank’s merchant banking group and a generalist in its corporate finance group, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and private placements for the energy industry.

His experience prior to Chemical Bank included corporate development for Freeport McMoRan as well as positions with Gulf + Western Industries and Arthur Young & Company.

Mr. Chavkin is a certified public accountant. He received his BA degree from Columbia College and his MBA degree from Columbia Business School. He is a director of Noble Environmental Power and PQ Corporation and a member of the Columbia College board of visitors.
