Vote for Mia Jung ’08 (EMBA-Global) so that she can give $50,000 to nonprofits across America — and capture her adventure in photos.
Mia Jung ’08 (EMBA-Global) needs your vote to give away $50,000 to nonprofits across the country.
Jung and her husband have entered Name Your Dream Assignment, a photo-essay contest sponsored by Lenovo and Microsoft in which photographers of all backgrounds submit ideas for “the most creative, inspiring photo shoot idea out there.” The photographer with the winning idea will receive $50,000 to bring his or her dream assignment to life.
Jung, a senior manager a Boston Scientific, proposes to donate the $50,000 to charities across the country and to photograph the people and organizations along the way. “This is an exciting way to give back in a difficult time,” Jung says. If she wins, the former cochair of the Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.’s Student Leadership and Ethics Board plans to use the project as a springboard to raise additional money and set up a nonprofit. “I’m especially interested in helping smaller, grassroots organizations,” Jung says. “If we win, I’ll also want to tap into my Columbia network to form a team in each state.”
The 20 ideas that get the most votes by April 3 will then be judged by an expert panel, which will select the winner based on the originality and creativity of the photographer’s idea.
