Patrick Chang, MBA 2014 - Co-President

Patrick is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School. Patrick has extensive experience sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities in IT security, business intelligence/analytics, ad-tech, enterprise software, and healthcare IT ranging in various stages from seed to growth equity at Bain Capital Ventures, Investor Growth Capital, New York Angels and Updata. He is also part of Foundation Capital’s Young Entrepreneur Program. Previously, Patrick helped public and venture backed technology companies raise capital and execute M&A transactions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Lehman Brothers. Patrick is also an aspiring entrepreneur and innovator and has also been involved in co-founding and working on various startups including Puffin, a mobile cloud based web browser that is #1 browser on all mobile devices with over 8MM downloads in iTunes, Appetite for Good, gastro-philanthropy organization, and Les Envies, a social restaurant marketing platform. Patrick is currently the Co-President of Columbia's Private Equity and Venture Capital club and is an InSITE fellow where he helps and mentors innovative New York based startups with business development and capital raising initiatives.

Rick Zullo, MBA 2014 - Co-President

Rick is a Morgan Scholar from Columbia Business School with experience advising and investing in enterprise software, e-commerce, marketing technology and cleantech industries. Rick is currently interning with Bowery Capital, an early-stage B2B focused venture fund, and is part of Foundation Capital’s Young Entrepreneur Program. Rick has previously worked as a Portfolio Consultant at First Round Capital, as an Associate at Red Oak Growth Partners, and as a Senior Consultant in Deloitte’s Strategy & Operations practice. Rick is Co-President of Columbia’s PE/VC Club and was the co-founder of Intellievents, a SaaS-based solution that analyzes and incentivizes digital loyalty. Rick holds a B.A. with honors in Economics and Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond.

Ryan Thompson, MBA 2014 - Conference Chair

 Ryan is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School. This past summer he worked at South Pacific Business Development, a microfinance institution based in Samoa, leading the implementation of a new loan product for small- to medium-sized enterprises. Prior to CBS, he worked as a commercial lender at MidFirst Bank, a privately held institution based out of Oklahoma City. In this role, he performed both underwriting and relationship management duties for a $200MM+ multi-industry portfolio. Ryan received his BBA from the University of Oklahoma with a major in Finance.

Kamiu Lee, MBA 2014 - Conference Chair

 Kamiu is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School with an interest in all things eCommerce, media and tech. She is currently working part-time at Rent the Runway, a fast-growing venture-backed company that is disrupting luxury retail, in the Business Development team. Her background includes prior experience in business development & partnerships, strategy, and finance (M&A, equity fundraising, venture capital) -- operating effectively in organizations of various sizes and stages, ranging from start-ups (Refinery29) to Fortune 500 companies (Ralph Lauren). Kamiu started her career as an investment banker at HSBC Securities, primarily based in New York with short stints in London and Sao Paulo. A native New Yorker, Kamiu has a passion for off-the-beaten-path travel, photography and fresh pressed juices.

Sean Breuner, MBA 2014 - VP Speakers and Sponsors

 Sean is a second-year MBA student at CBS from San Francisco, CA. He attended UC San Diego to play golf and earned a BS in Management Science, Economics. In the years after graduating he launched an investment firm and a finance & consulting company. After selling his businesses, Sean became Vice President of BM Tonkin where he spearheaded investments in real estate and PEVC funds in the Silicon Valley. Sean is a recipient of the Dean’s List Honor at CBS.He is also an avid sports fan and holds a full-time position as a mentor in hopes of keeping his 4 younger brothers in line.

Graham Brown, MBA 2014 - VP Speakers and Sponsors

 Graham is a second year student at Columbia Business School. He is currently interning at SoftBank Capital, where he is a member of the early stage investment team. Before starting at CBS in January 2013, he worked as the Director of Digital Strategy at Life Line Screening, the largest direct-to-consumer company in the health and prevention space and a portfolio company of Polaris Partners. Prior to Life Line Screening, Graham was an Associate at Polaris Partners, a $3.5 billion multistage venture capital firm. While at Polaris, Graham focused on investments in software, consumer Internet and financial technology. Prior to that, he was an Investment Banking Associate in the Software, Digital Media and Internet Technology group at Canaccord Genuity. Graham graduated Magna cum Laude from Colby College with a B.A. in Economics with Distinction and a Philosophy minor.

Leslie Goedken, MBA 2014 - VP Speakers and Sponsors

 Leslie is a second year student at Columbia Business School. Prior to attending CBS Leslie worked in Real Estate Investment Banking at MLV & Co. where she focused primarily on capital raising for REIT’s. She also worked at American Express with the Corporate Development Finance team where she focused on acquisitions and divestitures of companies, and with the Real Estate Finance team underwriting new construction projects. Prior to American Express Leslie worked with TNV (Triple Net Ventures) Partners on due diligence for equity investments in real estate operating companies and portfolios. Leslie holds an M.A. from Yale.

Martin Kang, MBA 2014 - VP Marketing and Media

Martin is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School. Prior to Columbia, Martin worked at Affinity Equity Partners where he was an associate. Prior to Affinity, he worked at Goldman Sachs in the investment banking and special situations groups. He graduated from Columbia University with a major in applied mathematics and minor in economics.

Joshua Kaplan, MBA 2014 - VP Communications

Josh is a second year MBA candidate at Columbia Business School, focused on digital strategy and entrepreneurship. He currently conducts due diligence for a media-focused venture capital fund. Prior to CBS, Josh focused on creative business development at Variety Magazine in Los Angeles. As part of the cross-functional Features team, he designed dynamic marketing materials, integrated sponsored content and refined editorial franchises to propagate the media company’s position as the leading entertainment news organization. Josh is a member of the Columbia Entrepreneurship Lab, developing an innovative e-commerce platform called Perkla; a digital marketplace for student discounts.

Nicolas Levin, MBA 2014 - VP Logistics

 Nicolas is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School. Over the summer, he worked for Macquarie Capital in their Financial Sponsors Group as an associate and will be returning there after he completes the MBA program. After graduating as an Industrial Engineer in 2007, Nicolas worked for Procter & Gamble in their Finance & Accounting department performing financial feasibility analyses for product launches. He then worked for Hermes Management Consulting on a variety of projects including financial due diligences on target companies of Private Equity funds. Before business school, he joined his family's business, Levin Global, where he focused on opening the New York branch of the franchise.

Jonathan Sterlin, MBA 2014 - VP Marketing and Media

 Jonathan is a second-year MBA student at Columbia Business School. He was a summer associate in the investment banking division of Barclays, where he will be returning after graduation. Before business school, Jonathan was a Senior Associate at PwC where he provided assurance services to companies in the banking & capital markets industry and tax services to high net worth individuals, privately-held companies, and venture capital firms. Jonathan received his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and his MS in Finance from American University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.


Christopher Monsif, MBA 2015 - AVP Speakers and Sponsors

 Christopher is a first year student at Columbia Business School. Prior to Columbia Business School, he spent seven years working in various roles within J.P.Morgan’s investment bank. As an analyst, Christopher spent three years in fixed income origination with a focus on tax-exempt bonds in the Energy space. In August 2010, he was selected as an associate to join J.P. Morgan's Global Corporate Bank, which was a developing group focused on offering the entirety of the J.P. Morgan platform to their large corporate clients on an international scale. Christopher’s primary focus within the Global Corporate Bank was to provide both bond and loan origination coverage support for a portfolio of large U.S. Industrial, Life Insurance, Property & Casualty and Reinsurance companies. Alex Yagoda, MBA 2015 - AVP Logistics

 Alex is a first year MBA student at Columbia Business School. Prior to Columbia, Alex spent 3 years at Booz & Company advising clients in the media and ecommerce sectors. While at Booz & Company, Alex worked closely with portfolio companies of private equity firms across a series of initiatives in the US and Latin America. Alex has prior work experience with Morgan Stanley, where he was part of the firm’s Latin America equity research team, and with Winnington Capital, a China-focused private equity fund. Alex received a BA in Economics from Columbia University.

Kendall Miller, MBA 2015 - AVP Communications

Kendall is a first year Columbia MBA candidate working at the intersection of strategic, creative, and operational roles and solutions. She is an avid traveler, design world enthusiast, and devoted NYC transplant. As a management consultant for both Fortune 100 companies and NGOs, she has worked in strategy development, performance improvement, and operating model design. Kendall is currently pursuing roles in both venture capital and innovation consulting, and is soaking up all that Silicon Alley has to offer.
