Application Fee 

A nonrefundable application fee of $100 must be received in order for an application to be considered. Submit a check or money order made out to Columbia Business School via US mail to address below. International postal orders cannot be accepted.

Two Essays 

Essay Instructions

The Master of Science in Leadership requires two essays:

Essay 1: What in your view makes a great leader? Ground your answer with examples from your own experience as a leader. (250 to 500 words maximum)
Essay 2: Describe what you hope to gain from the Master of Science Leadership, and how this fits your own professional and personal goals. (200 to 300 words maximum)

Please save your essay as an MS Word document or PDF titled “Last Name, First Name – Essays.” Be sure that each page of your essay is numbered and your full name (Last Name, First Name). Attach your essays to the same e‐mail as your application form and send them to msprograms@gsb.columbia.edu.

Résumé or CV Instructions 

Applicants to the Master of Science in Leadership must submit a Résumé or CV that includes their academic background and credentials and relevant work experience, as well as other business or academic experiences. Please save your résumé/CV as an MS Word document or PDF titled “Last Name, First Name – CV.” Be sure that each page of your résumé/CV is numbered and includes your full name (Last Name, First Name). Attach your résumé/CV to the same e‐mail as your application form and send to msprograms@gsb.columbia.edu

Letters of Recommendation 

Applicants must have two but may request up to three letters of recommendations. Recommenders are encouraged to submit letters of recommendation directly via e‐mail to msprograms@gsb.columbia.edu. If they prefer to send recommendations via US mail, please direct them to the address below.

Transcripts  

Applicants must have official transcripts sent via US mail directly from all colleges and universities they have attended to the address below. For faster consideration, applicants are encouraged to download or scan transcripts and then submit via e‐mail to msprograms@gsb.columbia.edu. If selecting the online option, a hard copy must also be submitted via mail.
