Dear Alumni:

Nearly 500 alumni, faculty members and prominent business leaders from around the world attended the School’s inaugural Pan-Asian Reunion, which took place in Hong Kong from October 24 to 26.

The landmark event featured a series of panels exploring Asia and the global economy. (Panels received substantial coverage in the local media — check out a recent Public Offering post.) Topics ranged from the challenges and opportunities in today’s financial markets to branding, healthcare and real estate. Participants also enjoyed evening gatherings at spectacular locations throughout Hong Kong.

The weekend was underwritten by 40 sponsors, with lead gifts from Credit Suisse and Coach. The Pan-Asian Reunion follows the success of the School’s Pan-European Reunion, which most recently was held in Rome in 2006. The next Pan-European Reunion is scheduled to take place in London in 2010.

Alumni are invited to e-mail pan-asia@gsb.columbia.edu to share their feedback and vote for the location of the next Pan-Asian Reunion; popular candidates to date are Shanghai, Singapore and Mumbai.

Photos and video footage from the weekend can be viewed here.

Thanks to all our alumni, guests, speakers, sponsors and friends of the School who helped make this inaugural Pan-Asian Reunion such a success.

Sincerely,
