Class Notes

John Davis (john@brandnewview.com)
John Davis writes: "My fifth book, Competitive Success: How Branding Adds Value (John Wiley & Sons), was published in the spring. My next book, which is about sports marketing, will come out in 2011. In September, I will become the dean of the Global MBA Program at the S.P. Jain Center of Management, one of Asia's leading business schools. My family and I will move back to Singapore, where we previously lived for nearly six years when I was on the faculty of Singapore Management University. This news follows a year living in Boston, where I taught at Emerson College. S.P. Jain has campuses in Singapore and Dubai and there is a new campus being built in Sydney, so a fair amount of travel will be involved with my new job, which should be interesting."

John Mayo-Smith
John Mayo-Smith writes: "Professors Bernd Schmitt and David Rogers did a fantastic job hosting the BRITE 2010 conference at Columbia this spring and it was great to have the opportunity to speak on a panel addressing application development, social media and digital branding!"

Benjamin Lowe (BLowe90@gsb.columbia.edu)
Seems like a lot of people are returning from somewhere... Similarly, after two years in Ireland setting up a research facility concentrating on operations research, ecosustainability and wireless communications, my family and I are settling back in NJ. I took over the role of operations director of Bell Labs North America, a research arm of Alcatel-Lucent.
