The global video game industry is in the midst of a disruptive technological transformation. New business models arising from this transformation herald both the promise of significant growth for gaming and the stagnation of the industry's older models. At this event, "Video Games and the Shaping of Industrial Transformation: Square Enix," sponsored by the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at Columbia Business School, academics and industry practitioners discuss the sources of these changes to an industry in constant flux.
In this video, Yoichi Wada, the president and CEO of Square Enix, speaks to students. Square Enix is one of the world's most successful gaming companies, which has produced many wildly popular titles such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Tomb Raider.
