At the BRITE '12 conference, author Stephen Baker ("Final Jeopardy" and "The Numerati") discussed how the development of IBM's Watson computer demonstrates the advanced capability of computers to understand and adapt to language nuances. Such advances will provide deeper opportunities for marketers to listen to their customers, and will require people to adapt to using such machines or risk losing their jobs to them.
